Winter Park Ski Resort is one of America's most popular ski areas due in part to its proximity to Denver. Just 65 miles from Denver, it was until recently owned and operated by the City of Denver as to give residents easy access to an affordable, high-quality ski resort. In 2002, Denver contracted with Intrawest, ULC to manage the resort.

Hernando's Pizza Pub has been a long standing tradition to people who visit Winter Park from all over the world since 1967. Jeff and Kimber Davidson, the present owners, have done their best to carry on that tradition since 1989. The pioneers of Hernando's, so to speak, where Jerry and Anne Von Dracek. They fell in love with Hideaway Park (later renamed Winter Park) and decided to build and start a pizza restaurant. They both enjoyed Broadway musicals of which the "Pajama Game" was their favorite. The theme song of that musical was Hernando's Hideaway and they both decided that Hernando's of Hideaway Park would be the name of their new restaurant.

The BRICKHOUSE 40 building is Granby's first brick building, built in 1927 by W.H. "Willy" Wood and located on Highway 40. Through the years this building has always served Granby residents with goods to make life more enjoyable. The quaint mountain town of Hot Sulphur Springs, is located 1 hour and 45 minutes northwest of Denver via I-70 to Highway 40 and only 30 minutes west of the Winter Park Chateau; 10 minutes from SolVista Ski Area; 60 minutes from Summit County Ski area, and just over an hour and 45 minutes to Vail and Steamboat Springs. We are 30 minutes from Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby for sailing and fishing. Only minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park.

If you are a history buff, or have any interest in Americana or industry, you'll surely benefit from a trip to Pioneer Village, south to Minden, Nebraska. Here within 20 acres, are over 50,000 pieces of Americana in 26 buildings. Many of the buildings were plucked from their country settings and restored here. Modern display halls hold selected treasures. Most of the antiques are arranged according to when they were used.
